このアダプタの Thunderbolt ポートを使って、Thunderbolt ケーブルや Thunderbolt 2 ケーブルを使うディスプレイに Mac を接続できます。たとえば、Mac を Apple Thunderbolt Display や LG Thunderbolt 2 ディスプレイにつなぐことができます。

Apple LED Cinema Display など、DisplayPort や Mini DisplayPort を使うディスプレイとは互換性がありません。Thunderbolt や Thunderbolt 2 は、ポートの形状は Mini DisplayPort 

データ転送

Thunderbolt 

このアダプタの Thunderbolt ポートは、データ転送に Thunderbolt ケーブルや Thunderbolt 2 ケーブルを使う外付けのハードドライブ、ドック、Mac、その他のデバイスの接続にも使えます。データ転送速度は、Thunderbolt デバイスでは最大 10 Gbps、Thunderbolt 2 では最大 20 Gbps です。

双方向アダプタなので、Thunderbolt ポートや Thunderbolt 2 ポートを搭載した Mac に Thunderbolt 3 デバイスを接続する場合にも使えます。その場合は、Mac に macOS Sierra 以降が搭載されていて、Thunderbolt 3 対応デバイスが自己給電型であることが必要です。

• このアダプタは Thunderbolt では受電しないため、外付けの Thunderbolt ディスプレイや、Thunderbolt での給電に対応したその他のデバイスにつないで Mac を充電することはできません。
